I wanted to do much more to this room, but didn't have a lot of options, time, or money, so I settled for paint, in the meantime. It's terribly cramped, and awkward to get into, but at least the orchid and lilac paint (hard to tell in the picture below) really did improve it in my estimation. Perhaps at some point, if I can't remove that part of the closet that juts into the side, I might do some inset shelves, which is a far easier project to contemplate.
