My Fete dress is my pride and joy. Concerned that it would not be deemed "good enough" or "period" by the other seamstress dancers, I researched the hell out of it with the help of my friend Jane Awl, and spent a solid two months making it without any electricity--tredle sewing machine and by hand, 14 yards of fabric, 4 types of trim, hoop underskirt and 21 hooks and eyes up the back, which are much harder to fasten than they once were...
